Superwords Color wonderful week

The world is full of color!

This week we celebrate colors and the Letter P.

You can color the letter P online here

I hope you all enjoyed our first week of Superwords English Club Talmon. Reinforcement is very important, so we will keep reviewing our opening song and vocabulary words. This week we will add colors as well.

Colors and counting are the two foremost building boxes to develop language.

Enjoy this series of clips to help develop the names of the colors. Don't forget to keep practicing the Monkey song!

You can also review the numbers 1-5

We will be reading the book Brown Bear Brown Bear, A famous book on colors. You can see the book here and read it out loud to your kids. It is a favorite in my family and your kids will love it to. We will be doing a lot of activities based on the book in the coming weeks. So enjoy it as a family.

This coming week's snack will be Popsicle thanks to the First Grade girls who won our sing off of the monkey song.

Here is the book with audio!

Review Bingo Superwords Club

This week has been so much fun. To make sure that the words we used this week become a part of their usable language and not just sounds from a song, we played a fun game of Bingo today.

You can download this game and fill in the missing squares with the numbers 1-5, to continue reviewing at home.

The more they can use these words in the context of a song, game or in a conversation, the more the words will stick in their minds and build the basis of a great English vocabulary.

Tips to play at home

Welcome to our Superwords English Club Talmon 2014

I am very excited to begin enjoying English with the kids of our community and help each of them to become a Superstar with word power.
TESL for kids

This year we are going to focus on building a vocabulary and conversational base for understanding the English language.  Everything is new and fun when you do it in a new language. We will be cooking, shopping, playing, singing, chatting, eating and coloring our way into being bilingual.

The best way to learn a new language and build vocabulary is to use real world activities and let the words take shape and make connections in the brain, without boring memorization. We are starting with these special kids, because you already know and value the fact that it is easier to learn a new language the younger you are. So let the fun begin.

Just a reminder of times and dates for each group.

Each week I will add enrichment options right here for you on this blog. This is for kids and parents who are enjoying the process and want to integrate English more during the week to build on the time we spend in the club.

A few important notes

1. I will speak almost exclusively in English during the club meetings
2. All messages will be here each week, so check in.
3. I will provide a small snack at each club meeting. Food words are great fun and it gives us a chance to practice conversational skills. It also helps the children to transition from school to fun cub time.
4. Each section make take 2-3 weeks to review, Every child is different, be patient.
5. Please give permission for me to video the kids singing the songs they learn for you.
